Quick answer
Go to Attendance → Settings. Choose your working days, standard shift hours, and the thresholds used to score a day (late grace, full/half day hours, overtime). Optionally require a selfie or location at check-in, sync attendance with approved leave and company holidays, and — separately — turn on network restriction to flag or block check-ins from outside your office network.
Working days
Toggle which days of the week count as working days. Any day left off shows as a weekly off in attendance.
Hours & timing
- Standard start / end — your shift window.
- Late grace (minutes) — how many minutes after the start time still count as on time.
- Full day / half day (hours) — the worked-hours thresholds used to classify a day.
- Overtime after (hours) — the point past which extra hours count as overtime.
Check-in requirements
Off by default — turn these on for field teams that need more than a punch:
- Require a selfie — a quick photo at check-in.
- Require location — capture GPS coordinates at check-in. Turning this on reveals office latitude, longitude and an allowed radius (m). Set a location and radius to block check-ins from outside that area; leave the radius blank to record location without enforcing a fence.
Sync with the rest of ASHR
- Count approved leave — approved leave days show as "On leave", never as absent.
- Count company holidays — holiday-calendar days show as "Holiday".
- Timezone — the timezone attendance is calculated against.
Restrict check-in by network
A separate card, off by default. When it is off, nothing about the caller's network is checked or recorded. Turn it on and pick what happens to a check-in from outside your list:
- Off — not checked.
- Report only — recorded as inside or outside your network, but never blocked. Start here.
- Enforced — check-ins from outside your network are refused.
List allowed networks, one per line, as IPv4 or IPv6 ranges (e.g. 203.0.113.0/24) or a single address with no /. Ask your IT team for your office and VPN ranges — a home broadband address usually changes, so it is rarely the right thing to add.
Frequently asked questions
- Do attendance settings apply to one person or everyone?
- Everyone in your organisation — attendance settings are a single, organisation-wide policy, not set per person.
- What happens if I turn on network restriction and set it to Report only?
- Check-ins are recorded as inside or outside your allowed networks, but nothing is ever blocked. It is the safe way to see the effect before enforcing it.
- What if I require location but don't set an office radius?
- Location is captured and recorded, but check-ins are not blocked based on where the person is.
