Quick answer

Open Time Off in the sidebar, click Apply, pick a leave type and dates, add a short reason, and submit. Your reporting manager is notified immediately. If they do not act within the escalation window, the request auto-escalates.

Step by step

  1. Open Time Off

Click Time Off in the sidebar. You land on your personal leave dashboard with balances and history.
  2. Click Apply

The Apply button opens the request form in a dialog.
  3. Pick leave type

EL (earned), SL (sick), CL (casual), or LOP (loss of pay). Available types depend on your org's policy.
  4. Choose dates

Select start and end. Toggle half-day if you need only half a working day.
  5. Add reason + attach

Type a short reason. Attach a document if your org requires one (medical certificate, travel note, etc.).
  6. Submit

Your request appears under Pending and your manager is notified by email.

What happens after I submit?

  • Your manager sees the request on their Team Leaves tab.
  • You get an email when they approve, reject, or escalate.
  • If nothing happens within the escalation window, the request auto-escalates to the next level.
  • Approved leave is subtracted from your balance automatically.

Frequently asked questions

Can I cancel a pending leave request?
Yes. Pending requests can be edited or withdrawn from your Time Off history. Once approved, contact your manager to cancel.
What if I do not have enough balance?
You can still apply as LOP (loss of pay). Your admin decides whether LOP is allowed based on the leave policy.
My manager has not responded — what happens?
After the escalation window set by your admin (commonly 24–48 hours), the request is escalated to the next level and both parties are notified by email.
Can I apply for leave on a holiday?
No. Holidays are blocked in the date picker so you do not spend balance on days you already have off.
