Quick answer
On the Pulse page an HR admin clicks New pulse, writes one to three questions, picks a cadence — weekly, every two weeks or monthly — and activates it. Each period, everyone sees the pulse under This period and answers once, anonymously. Results show a trend per question, withheld until at least five people have answered a period.
Creating and activating
New pulse
Title, cadence, and the questions. It starts as a draft so you can check the wording.Activate
The first period opens on the start date; later periods follow the cadence.Pause, resume or close
Pause keeps history and stops answers; Close ends the pulse.
Answering
Open Pulse, find the pulse under This period, click Answer now, pick 1–5 for each question, add a comment if you like, and send. Once you have answered, the card says so and the form does not reopen until the next period.
Reading results
Only HR admins open results. Each question shows a line of period averages — a gap where a period had fewer than five answers — and the comments for the current period once that period clears the floor.
Frequently asked questions
- How many questions can a pulse have?
- One to three. Each is answered on a 1–5 scale with an optional comment. Keep it short — that is what makes people answer every period.
- When does a new period start?
- Counted from the pulse's start date — every 7 days, every 14 days, or on the same day each month. An active pulse shows up on everyone's Pulse page as "This period" with an "Answer now" button.
- Can I pause a pulse?
- Yes. Pause stops new answers and keeps the history; Activate resumes it. Close ends it for good.
